For the last 15 years or so Evelyn Hayes with Century21 Professional Realty
has been lighting up the Cotee River. Every Christmas Eve Evelyn has been
lining the sea wall on Grand Blvd with luminaries. Due to a knee injury, Evelyn
was not sure if she would be able do luminaries this year. Her neighbor, Wendy
Walter, wanted to keep the tradition going in honor of her late husband, John
Keats who loved the luminaries. So once again, Evelyn and Wendy and helpers, Louise Glass, John Glass, Kastin Lockard,
Karter Lockard, Blake Craig, Candy Smith, and Roy Holbrook, kept the tradition
alive and the luminaries shined bright along the seawall until sunrise on
Christmas day.
