Arrest Made in Holiday Armed Robbery, Carjacking

Troy Adams wanted money and drugs and took action to get them, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

A Holiday man stands accused of robbing a man while armed with a gun and then stealing a car and fleeing the scene with prescription pills and money.

According to a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy, Troy Adams, 24, got a ride on March 6 from an acquaintance who picked him up in Tarpon Springs and drove him around “to run errands.”

Adams asked the driver if he knew anyone who could sell him Roxycodone pills, according to an arrest report. The driver took Adams to Holiday and picked up another man.

Adams and the new passenger got into an argument, according to the arrest report, and Adams pulled a handgun from his waist band area. Adams pointed the gun at the man and demanded money and drugs. The passenger got out of the car, and Adams punched him several times in the face.

Adams then ordered the driver out of the car while pointing the gun at him and stole the car, according to the arrest report. He fled wth prescription pills and roughly $1,000, according to the arrest report.

Adams of 4329 Darlington Drive in Holiday, was arrested March 27 and charged with carjacking and armed robbery. He is in the Land O’ Lakes in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The case is still under investigation, sheriff's office Spokesman Kevin Doll said.
