Bicylist Injured in Hit-And-Run

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are seeking information related to a pre-dawn hit-and-run that left a bicyclist seriously injured.

According to troopers, Port Richey resident Bryan Joseph Mosby, 27, was riding a bicycle on Little Road south of Rancho Del Rio Drive in the New Port Richey area around 1:30 a.m. Thursday when the bike was struck from behind by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle fled south and was later seen in the parking lot of the Walmart at the northeast corner of State Road 54 and Little Road. Witnesses said it was a silver or grayer two-door passenger car with a heavily damaged front end and windshield.

The driver was described as a woman in her late 20s with brown hair and wearing a tan-colored shirt and jeans.

The vehicle then went to the Hess gas station east of Walmart and left in an unknown direction.

The bicyclist was taken to a hospital in Bayonet Point.
