Brothers Accused of Snatching Jewelry from Elderly Men
Deputies arrested Justin and Jacob Herc of Holiday in connection to recent robberies and are looking for information on whether they are connected to other incidents
Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies made arrests Monday in connection with recent robberies in which jewelry was ripped off the bodies of elderly men.
Brothers Jacob and Justin Herc, of Holiday, were arrested. Both Herc brothers were charged in connection to a January robbery. Only Jacob was charged in connection to a different February robbery.
In the evening on Jan. 9, a 73-year-old man in the parking lot of the Walmart at 8745 S.R. 54 in New Port Richey was starting to return his shopping cart when someone approached him, according to an incident report from the Sheriff’s Office.
The man, later identified as Justin Herc in a report, grabbed the elderly man with one hand and pulled off the 14 karat gold chain the man had around his neck. The man fell to the ground and suffered bruises and abrasions, according to the report.
Justin ran into a nearby Hess parking lot and got into an SUV, the report states.
A deputy obtained surveillance video of the encounter.
The man told a deputy the chain was worth $2,000. Jacob pawned the necklace with in the hour, according to the report.
On Feb. 12, an 89-year-old man was in his garage on Woodcock Drive removing groceries from the trunk of his car when he was punched in the back of the neck. The assailant, later identified as Jacob Herc, ripped an 18-karat gold rope necklace and gold-rope bracelet off the man, according to a report from the Pasco Sheriff's Office. Jacob then ran away, the report says.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Doug Tobin says the agency believes the Hercs were looking for victims at Walmart and Publix.
The brothers, who both live at 3322 Kinard Lane in Holiday, were arrested Monday and booked into the Land O’ Lakes jail.
Justin Herc, 22, was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery on a person 65-years-old or older and possession of a controlled substance.
Jacob Herc, 25, was charged with robbery with no firearm or weapon, battery on a person 65-years-old or older, burglary with assault or battery, robbery by sudden snatching and dealing in stolen property.
The Sheriff's Office believes the Hercs may be involved in other incidents.
The agency is asking possible victims of the brothers to call the Pasco Sheriff's Office Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488.

Stand them up side by side. One bullet to the head should take care of both of them.

I know both of them, and it's just further proof of what drugs do to people. Justin has always been a piece of shit, but i never thought Jacob would do something like this. They deserve to get raped and beat in prison. I REALLY hope Jacob learns his lesson in prison this time. I am absolutely SHOCKED Jacob has done something like this. But when you're born from drug addict parents, raised that way, and do drugs with your parents... That's kind of the lifestyle they learn. This is such a sad thing and I hope the victims are ok, they never deserved ANY of this!!
