Deputies Identify Victim in Moon Lake Attack

Deputies still looking for one suspect.

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies have released the identity of a brutal beating the victim of a  brutal beating  and robbery in Moon Lake.

Bobbie Jo Curtis met the victim on Singlesnet.com and lived with him for a week before the crime.   

A 44-year-old man was tied up, beaten with a baseball bat and hammer and robbed Friday night at his home in Moon Lake.  Deputies identified him Monday as Joseph M. Bruno.

Deputies  have identified three suspects in the case: Bobbie Jo Curtis, her son Bryan Curtis and Vanessa Musson.  

Musson is one of three suspects in the case of the 44-year-old man who was tied up, beaten and robbed.

The Curtises were arrested Saturday.

Deputies are still looking for Vanessa (also known as Venessa) Musson, 26, of Hudson, and are seeking to charge her with attempted murder, aggravated battery, grand theft auto and grand theft firearm, according to a media release.

Musson stole several firearms during the attack and is believed to be “armed and dangerous,” according to the media release. 

A 69-year-old man who saw the suspects leave the home with property was hit in the head with a baseball bat, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Deputies identified him Monday as David Lee Ragon.

One of the things that was stolen from Bruno was a 2000 white Econoline van that has a roof/ladder rack and tag 366TQH. Musson might be in possession of it, according to the release.

Musson has tattoos on her back, ankles and chest, including one saying "Nessa" on her arm.

The Sheriff’s Office is warning people not to approach Musson but to instead call them at 727-844-7711 if they have tips about her whereabouts.
