A Clearwater resident was arrested in Holiday on May 26 after a sheriff's deputy heard a gun go off in the parking lot of outside a club at 2851 U.S. 19.

The deputy called for backup and another deputy arrived at Emperors Gentleman's Club and found Antwon Adams, 31, of 5093 Foxbridge Circle #133, sitting in his vehicle outside of the club.

When the deputy asked for his registration, Adams leaned over to retrieve it, revealing a loaded .380 caliber handgun in the driver’s seat floorboard of his 2010 Toyota Camry, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department.

Another male was in the passenger seat. He was questioned but not charged.

A computer check revealed that the handgun was stolen from the Clearwater Police Department’s jurisdiction. A warrants check revealed that Adams had two active Pasco warrants for possession and sale of Oxycodone.

The report also said that during an inventory of Adams’ vehicle, a clear plastic baggie containing 16 grams of small, white squares and $325 cash was located in the center console. A presumptive test indicated the white squares to be cocaine.

Adams admitted the cocaine was his. He was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, of possession of cocaine with intent to sell and warrants for possession and sale of Oxycodone.

Adams was convicted in Pinellas County in 1997 for possession and sale of crack cocaine.
