Hudson resident Patty Reeves enjoyed a bowl of french onion soup at Boulevard Beef and Ale (6201 Grand Boulevard). She wanted to share her thoughts and photos.

I was downtown in New Port Richey and had some time to kill before going to my clay class at the West Pasco Art Guild

I stopped in at Boulevard Beef and Ale and ordered the french onion soup. DIVINE!I know you do restaurant reviews and recommends...this one would be a recommend! I'm a soup snob, especially with french onion soup.

If your food writer wonders why it was such a great item to order, it comes with the first bite, much to the disappointment of the diner, the broth can be loaded with sodium...way too much salt..(as in Benchwarmers).

Not so at this location.

Delicious balance of beef broth and a hint of wine? topped with a top shelf cheese, top cooked to a bubbly presentation. A view onto Main Street was a plus.

I have to agree with the writer as to how great the soup is! Joe, the owner, 'brews' this up to perfection. Nice staff there, too. And indoor/outdoor accommodations.

Thanks for reminding me that I haven't had Joe's French Onion Soup lately. I'll correct oversight when I'm over there for lunch Tuesday.
