Get Active in New Port Richey
The city has a number of opportunities available for volunteers that want to help out.
Looking for a place to volunteer that’s close to home?
The City of New Port Richey might have some ideas for you.
The city’s Volunteer Corps is always scouting out people to help in a variety of ways, according to the city’s website. Some of the current opportunities available include:
- Citizens Boards and Committees – Possibilities here change based on the boards and committees that have current openings.
- Development Services – Volunteers here help out by serving as city receptionists and greeting people coming into City Hall.
- Parks and Recreation – This department is looking for people to help out on the front desk at the Recreation and Aquatics Center.
Potential volunteers must fill out an application, which is available on the city’s website. In most cases, volunteers need to be 16 or older, but there are some exceptions for younger volunteers.

There are also several committees which would welcome the assistance of more volunteers, among them, the Cultural Arts Committee and the Pasco EcoFest.

I am happy to read that the city is publicizing it's need for volunteers. I volunteer in City Hall and find it a useful outlet for my energy in retirement and I enjoy the contact with the employees and the customers.

Who ever runs the "volunteer corp", should have a Data Bank of volunteers according to their skills and time available, so they can be called when needed.
