Holiday Man Dies in Overnight Crash

The accident took place on Grand Boulevard, near the intersection with Sunray Drive.

A 20-year-old Holiday man is dead and another man is injured following an evening crash on Grand Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Angus Stubbs, 25, of Hazel Green, Ala., was driving south on Grand Boulevard in a 1997 Ford F250 as Bill J. Castro Segura of Holiday was traveling north on Grand, near the intersection with Sunray Drive in Holiday. Stubbs’ vehicle began to “swerve towards the west shoulder for unknown reasons,” a highway patrol media release said.

At that point, Stubbs over-corrected back into the roadway, causing his truck to travel over the painted median and into oncoming traffic. Stubbs’ truck went into the path of Segura’s 1995 Honda Odyssey . The two vehicles collided, “nearly head-on,” the release said.

The crash caused Segura’s minivan to overturn. He was taken to the Medical Center of Trinity where he later died, the release said.

Stubbs was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
