New Chinese Buffet Open on 54

Gator Buffet has opened up in the former home of Barnhill's Buffet.

There’s a new Chinese and American food buffet in the New Port Richey area.

Gator Buffet opened at 6301 State Road 54, New Port Richey, earlier this month. The buffet has ample selection of seafood, meat, noodle and vegetable Chinese dishes, as well as a sushi bar and hibachi grill.

The buffet has moved into the previous home of the popular Barnhill’s Buffet, which closed its doors permanently in 2011.

The new restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and offers a senior citizen discount. Check out the Gator Buffet website for menu and pricing information.

Food cold & old, floor dirty, staff strange and they charge a full dinner price all day Sunday. Had no idea until check-out (12:30p.m.). First & last..$28.00 down the drain. Just as bad as Barnhills if not worse.I'm tired of Sonny's...but it's good! A employee must have wrote the one above.

I found this buffet to be quite good.... large selection of various buffet type chinese and american dishes.........salad bar was great ..... I don't eat sushi but they all looked good.... I found the place very clean and that the food was cold where it was suppose to be and hot where it was suppose to be. We all like different dishes so maybe one would like this or that..... but I liked mostly all I tried. Glad to have a place to go to... Only Chinese Buffet that I really liked closed down without notice. China Buffet on 19 close to Jasmine... Still don't know why. P.S. The pricing is right on the wall when you walk in the front doors....look to the left and the wall is the menu/pricing.

The first and last time I try this place. Me and my fiance decided to try out this place as it just opened and we will NEVER go back. As soon as we walked in, some woman, wasn't sure if she was a manager or owner, took me and my fiance to a back room area that was dirty and unorganized, which very horrible music playing. We ordered our drinks and went to get our food. There wasn't much selection in the Sushi department so we didn't really bother to look. But to honestly have 3 different tables for salad and fruit was ridiculous. My fiance and myself didn't eat everything we picked up from the buffet tables as the food was horrid! The pot stickers I had were not cooked all the way because when I took a bite into mine, it was still pink in the middle!!! Pot stickers are not suppose to be like that! The boneless ribs were too fatty. My fiance's sweet and sour chicken was dry and his sesame buns were not cooked through. Our sodas were flat as well. We got up, and told the cashier how disappointed we were with EVERYTHING and he gaves us a 15% discount when it should of been more! I will never eat there again!
