Night in The Tropics Returns to New Port Richey

Enjoy food, drinks and entertainment that have an island flair.

THE ANNUAL NIGHT IN THE TROPICS STREET PARTY WILL PUT THE NEW ALCOHOL ORDINANCE TO THE TRUE TEST

Night in the Tropics is scheduled for Saturday, August 11 from 6-11 p..m  This will be the hottest night in town with all kinds of Island fun.

The Caribbean style event features live music on three stages. The sounds of Reggae, Cuban Swing and Summer Beach will be heard in various spots downtown. Varieties of food with an island flair, such as Jamaican Jerk, traditional Cuban cuisine and other tropical fare will be available throughout the streets.

The downtown restaurants and bars will be featuring tropical drinks and beers. Patrons are encouraged to stop in and sample the variety of drinks in each of the local hot spots.

Many of the local restaurants and bars will also be featuring live music in the island tradition. There will be street performers, salsa dancing and tropical items by local arts and crafters on display and for purchase.

This will be the first event to utilize the revised New Port Richey alcohol ordinance and allow patrons to move from bars to the streets with beverage in hand. So Samba your way to downtown New Port Richey, Saturday August 11 6-11 p.m. to feel the heat of the tropics. See You Downtown!

Night in the Tropics is an event organized by Greater New Port Richey Main Street, a 501-c-3 not-for-profit. The mission of Main Street is to encourage and assist private and public entities in the revitalization and beautification of the downtown.
