Pasco 7th-Graders Can Get Free Immunizations

Shots will be offered during secondary back-to-school orientation on Aug. 14.

Parents wondering where to go and how to pay for Tdap vaccinations for their incoming seventh-graders don’t have to worry any longer.

The Pasco County Health Department has teamed up with the school district to offer the combined diphtheria, acellular pertussis vaccination, also known as the Tdap, during secondary back-to-school orientations. The shots are being offered at no charge and all parents need to do is accompany their kids to the orientation to ensure they can receive them, according to the school district's website.

The vaccine is required by the state for all incoming seventh-grade students.

Orientation sessions are all scheduled for Aug. 14, but times can vary by school. Here’s the breakdown for West Pasco:

  • River Ridge Middle – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; evening hours may be available from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Seven Springs – 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Chasco Middle – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Pasco County Health Department is available to answer any questions at 727-861-5260, Ext. 268. Parents may also call the district’s Supervisor of Health Services at 727-774-2360 or 813-794-2360.
