Presidential Race Outcome Saddens, Excites West Pasco
West Pasco reacts to presidential election.
President Barack Obama will get another four years, but not by Pasco's doing.
Former Gov. Mitt Romney won the county with 52.5 percent of the vote.
A total of 110,563 ballots were cast in Romney’s favor in Pasco. Obama came in second with 96,360 ballots cast in his favor, which works out to 45.81 percent, according to the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Office.
The county has traditionally voted Republican in presidential races, including wins for GOP candidates in 2008 and 2004.
When asked how they felt about the win, New Port Richey Patch readers had this to say on our Facebook page:
I am so sad today for my country and the kids that will be leading under a socialistic president...monetarily everyone is not equal i do not wanna share my wealth unless i choose too we are spending at an alarming rate and our kids will never retire we owe more money to china we bring troops home it allows terrorists to regroup this country was the strongest in the world and today all the other countries are watching us fall and them rise to the occasion because as americans we want so much but dont want to work for it..we are a lazy nation and we just witnessed how lazy we are to let our country founder under false principles
the root of our countrys problems are with the free mentality of some of the people,,and you get politicians just love when that happens,,it takes the focus off of there shortcommings...and GOD knows there are plenty of those...if we, as a country continue to vote republican,or democrat,,it will only get worse every year,,,dont tread on me..!!!both partys are evil,,and you cant dispute it..
I'm ready to see what my president has in store for the next 4 years.
Simply said. Very happy with the outcome
*throws confetti* So excited! While I have Obama reservations, he was certainly the better choice, and besides that, there were BIG historical wins made last night across many parts of the nation and in our Senate! Not to mention good steps being made in WA and OR. Overall great outcomes. . . . Encouraging!
Oh and I'm also glad that the rest of the world, who hated the idea of Romney for president (like our biggest ally, the U.K., who spoke out against Romney as our next president in a bigger way than they've ever done before), are not disappointed in America's choice! It is NOT the most important issue of course, but it's also good when our closest allies don't think we're insane and impossible to work with. When people outside of America can really see what's going on, it's too bad those inside of it can't always look at things from a different perspective. I wish we could have more than simply two choices, and I had other preferences, but I'm relieved things went the Obama route AS OPPOSED TO Romney
Very hurt, disappointed and afraid for the freedom and liberties of my Country. Its a worldwide embarrasement for America.
All the problems come from lobbyists and the major corporations that support both candidates. Obama and Romney are both puppets being played by the same puppet master. Why does someone like Gary Johnson end up on ballots in every state and not be allowed on the debates, no media coverage on him? The media sources owned by these corporations are only covering two candidates, democratic and republican, divide and conquer, and it's sad so many people believe what they are fed by the media that they believe those are the only choices, it's like rooting for an AFC/NFC football game. Hoping your conference or division wins just cause you support that conference rather than the people playing. People need to wake up and realize how corrupt the government is...and it's the duty of the people to alter or abolish and set up a new government if it becomes too corrupt and powerful...declaration of independence. And I say that's long overdue.

America died 11/6/2012 R.I.P. Socialism won individual liberty and freedom, what the founding fathers gave to us to cherish has been voted away.
Not socialism, more like fascism. Corporations and government working hand in hand. And Benito Mussolini said that himself and bill Clinton called for that at the DNC. What a coincidence.
So HAPPY I will retain full control over my body and that Obama realizes that women should have the right to completely control their destinies. It was a big night for women everywhere! Hip, Hip HOORAYYY!!!
am so happy that we are going forward with obama
