Sassy O'Shea's Opens at Ramada Inn

New pub invites patrons to grab some sass.

There’s a sassy new pub in West Pasco, and it's in the Gulf Harbors area.

Sassy O’Shea’s Irish Pub and Grill is in the Ramada Inn Bayside at the corner of U.S. 19 and Marine Parkway. It opened earlier this month in a waterfront building it shares with the Ramada lobby, and its tag line on its website is "Grab Some Sass!"

“We offer fun and great service, and we offer great Irish food on top of it,” said Jerry Higgs Jr., a head chef.

O’Shea’s serves some Irish staples like bangers and mash and corn beef and cabbage and also Irish drinks, but that’s only a small part of the menu. It also serves wings, personal pizzas, seafood and chicken dinners. Higgs is planning an expanded menu.

The pub also has live entertainment and offers karaoke.

Sassy O’Shea’s is a new business, but the people behind it aren’t new to the area.

Higgs said the core group of people who started the business know each other from working at Ker's Wing House on U.S. 19. Higgs grew up in the area.

The pub is run by Mike Bergin, owner of Sassy Mangos, LLC. He and Higgs worked together at the Wing House.

O'Shea's is in a space that used to be occupied by Classy Jac’s Lounge and Tiki Bar.

Now, O'Shea's sits in that space. It's close to both Gulf Harbors and the Southgate Shopping Center, which is one of the more modern shopping centers in the area.

O’Shea’s had a soft opening Sept. 5, but it is planning a grand opening celebration at an unannounced date.

Bergin said all of Sassy O'Shea's food is made fresh. He said that his core philosophy behind the business is a concentration on people and love, not profits and losses.

“We really want the people from Gulf Harbors to have an awesome experience and feel like they are part of the family," he said.

Sassy O' Shea's is located at 5015 U.S. 19 in the Ramada Inn across from Southgate Shopping Center. It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Happy Hour is every day from 3 to 7 p.m., and reverse happy hour is from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

You can find more of what Sassy O'Shea's offers at its website.
