Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Should Patch Hold an Open Candidate Forum?

We want to hear from readers on whether we should hold a forum in which they can hear from candidates.

Local election season is upon us.

Two seats are up for grabs in the New Port Richey city council election being held April 9, and it seems readers want to hear from the people who will be vying for the job.

A New Port Richey Patch reader said Friday he 'Would love if the Patch hosts an open town hall-type forum where city residents can ask the candidates questions and hear their ideas for the city."

That's an interesting idea...

Who thinks we should do it and that people would actually attend?

Leave us a comment here or on Facebook telling us if you want this and would or would not attend. A “Like” on Facebook is not a sufficient response.  Please say either "yes" or something like "I want Patch to hold an open candidate forum" so that it is clear what you would like us to do.

Here’s the list of people who have people who have put their names in the running so far. Find out a little bit more info on them in our article.

  • Bob Langford,
  • Michael J. Malterer
  • Ginny Miller
  • Rose M. Mohr
  • Jeffery W. Starkey
  • Jonathan R. Tietz

This is a fantastic idea. Thank you zoobiedood for suggesting it!

I would love to participate and share my ideas about the city and how we can make it safer, raise our property values, and generate revenue more effectively.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback . We will take it into consideration and post our plans in the near future on whether we will hold this and when.
