Thanksgiving Break: How to Occupy West Pasco Kids

Need some ideas on what to do with the kids while Pasco schools are closed?

Thanksgiving break is under way and there are still days to go until the turkey is cooked and the family fun begins.

If you’re stumped on what to do with the kids to occupy their time, here are a few no- and low-cost ideas in West Pasco:

  • Visit the parks – Pasco County schools are closed, but the parks aren’t. Take a trip to one of the area’s parks or playgrounds for a day. From Sims Park and the Grey Preserve to the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center West Pasco has some treasures well worth exploring.
  • Catch a matinee – Thanksgiving time is traditionally a great period for family friendly movies. Take in a matinee at one of the area’s theaters to kill a few hours. If you go in the early afternoon hours, the pricing is greatly reduced for both children and adults.
  • Make some crafts at home – If you want to keep little hands busy, there are all kinds of holiday crafts they can create to decorate the dinner table for the feast. Then snap a photo or two of the masterpieces and add them to our Pics and Clips Gallery and voila! They're famous artists!
