Wandering 3-Year-Old Found in Street
A man who said he fell asleep and woke up to find the girl missing has been arrested for child neglect
Someone found a 3-year-old girl walking in the middle of Main Street near Oelsner Street Saturday evening and called the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl was wearing a t-shirt, flip flops and underwear and walking east toward U.S. 19.
A deputy located Jeffrey Lenco. Lenco had been driving around and told the deputy he lost his 3-year-old. He said he fell asleep on the couch. Whe he awoke, his dather was missing. He said he had not contacted law enforcement because he just woke up.
Lenco, of 4940 Vortex Ave, New Port Richey, was arrested Saturday and charged with child neglect. He was booked into the Land O’ Lakes jail Saturday and released Sunday on $5,000 bail.

What is wrong with these people! This is happening way too often. The last time something like this happened the poor baby drowned and died in the lake across the street from their house!

Tough lesson, when something as simple as a lock could have prevented it. Glad the girl is okay.
