West Pasco Schools Open on Veterans Day
The national holiday is observed on Monday, Nov. 12 this year.
As people across America recognize men and women who have served in the armed forces, West Pasco students will have to hit the books.
All Pasco County Public Schools are open Monday, Nov. 12, according to the district's calendar. Most county government offices, however, are closed in observance of the holiday.
While students in Pasco don't get the day off, most schools do have some observance of the holiday on their calendars.
And for those who are just tired of hitting the books, there's a break on the horizon. Pasco schools close Nov. 19-23 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Maybe that's a good idea. Perhaps, the students could even learn the reasons for having a 'Veterans' Day' and maybe -- just maybe -- come up with some really great ideas on how to honor our vets. They sacrificed so much for so many.
Having the day off doesn't serve to honor our veterans. I believe that most of the students, teachers and staff would only view it as merely another day off from work/school.
Learn -- Teach ; then, perhaps we can begin to rebuild a better place to live and truly honor our vets.
