These kinds of questions are always hard for me to answer because if you are a foodie, the New Port Richey area is not for you. Catches should run away with the prize considering their facilities, the location, and their resources. However, their service is notoriously bad and their food is a step down from Red Lobster in many cases. What a shame. With that being said, I will give the nod to Zen Forrest. They have great food because they have a chef who takes pride in his menu and the ingredients he uses. Unfortunately they also have a terrible location so it is not a place everyone around here is aware of.

For Pizza and Italian sandwiches and the baked ziti, it has to be Slice of Life Pizza on Little Rd. behind McDonalds and accross from Dairy Queen. After having the best fish and chips in the world in Dublin Ireland, the best fish and chips around-from here to Clearwater and up to Spring Hill-HANDS DOWN is Trinity Seafood. $20 buys fish and chips and coleslaw for four people. But it is the freshness and the batter that really makes it the BEST. I agree also about Fitzgeralds.Great Irish food and a very nice spiced apple cider (can be spiked) but no draft specials???no dregs hangingaround either. I keep my business between these three LOCAL NPR restaurants and don't believe you have to leave NPR for a good meal. Keep it local OH Great hamburgers and good dinners at Boulevard Beef and Ale! If we don't give local business our business, they may go out of business. With the price of gas, we may be walking to eat out. I haven't been to all restaurants (and I'm sure no one else has) so please share your best so potential customers will keep the business in NPR.

The Backroom has a good selection of food... I'll stop in just to have their awesome homemade coleslaw... The wings... Are to die for! Try the Parmesan cheese grilled wings... And their spiced apple pie shot is good too.. I'll have to try Fitgeralds... Pass it several times a day and was curious about it myself.

Without a doubt the Grand Plaza Cafe on Little Rd in the Grand Trinity Plaza. Best Italian food around! You will love it. They have a great variety of dishes.

The Grand Plaza Cafe has great American food too. The atmosphere is wonderful for Family get togethers, dinner dates, & catching a quick bite to eat on the run. I'm so glad I found this place. The Italian food is like an Italian restaurant in New York. Very authentic.

Leaning Tower of Pizza is awesome and such a wonderful staff, and Grill 19 - you just cannot beat the happy hour and after 8 specials. Oh, and Kazu Sushi and Christo's are great options too...there are lots of good little gems around if you look!

@Michelle. I know what you mean about the germs at a buffett though. I have viewed people not was their hands in the restroom & return to the buffett line & handle the scoop utencils. I stopped getting more food at that point. LOL.
I thought of you last week as I bought Publix Yougart. As I put some Carrot Cake yogarts in my cart I wondered if you had tried it & if you liked it, or not. Not everyone has the same taste.
You once mentioned that you & your husband think a revolution might be brewing in America. I realize that is off topic here, but you might be interested in this.

@Michelle, I never heard of WAWA except at work I work for a major AMEX company in customer service & have seen the charges at WAWA on many people's accounts. When I saw that they are opening in at least two locations locally, that I have noticed, I watched with interest.
I went to their website & it looks interesting. I see that they take a very long time to construct their locations. I have been watching & waiting for them to open so I can check them out.
Have any of them opened yet locally that you know of?

Michael... None in our town yet... But soon:) I have been watching all three, but believe the ridge and 19 will be the first to open.. 2nd week in February was the open date. It is a very clean, variety of everything under the sun store... And all food and veggies are fresh.. Not sure about the gas prices, but heck, I'm interested in their Herrs and Utz brand snacks and fresh Tastycakes...

Whiskey River has great food, though their prices are a bit high. Leaning Tower is excellent. I've only eaten at Fitzgerald's once, but it was very good. Jimmy's has great breakfast. Estela's is fantastic food, but the service is consistently horrible. I really hope they fix that, because I may never get my husband to go there again, and it's the best Mexican food around.
