Women Accused of Stealing More than $500 Worth of Baby Items
The two were arrested at the Walmart on State Road 54 in New Port Richey.
They needed baby clothes and diapers, the women said. So they stuffed them in a diaper bag at a New Port Richey Walmart and tried to leave without paying, according to a Pasco County arrest report.
Jasmin Cierra Margarejo, 20, and Aleida Sheylin Ocasio-Ramos, 18, both of Holiday, were observed by store associates putting multiple baby needs items in a diaper bag on Tuesday, according to the report.
The two then passed all points of sale without paying for the items, which totaled $552.34 in value, according to the sheriff's office.
Post-Miranda, the women "admitted to planning the theft because they needed baby diapers and clothes," the report stated.
Both women were charged with grand theft. They remained in the Land O' Lakes jail Thursday in leu of $5,000 bond each.
