Beefing it up for National Beef Month

January happens to be Meat Month — vegans please turn the page here — carnivores rejoice and read on! You are in for a stellar month of 14 ounce bone-in rib eye steaks and juicy burgers (dripping  and dribbling with melted cheese,
smear of mayo please).

In order to properly celebrate this monumental month, I have compiled a list of the juiciest, meat dripping, cardiac driven beefy meals:

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar: Prime Rib Sunday runs through Feb. 10 you can get the three course Prime Rib Dinner (best in town) for only $29.95

Shakespeare’s: OMG, no better burger around.  A fresh Rosemary bun and the juiciest burger in Southeast Florida, served with steak fries.

Eat Here: The Veal Meatloaf is so good it's almost indescribable, must be something in that rich mushroom gravy that makes this meatloaf nearly an out of
body experience.

Ruth’s Chris- I find them a bit snobby and uninspired at times, but the sirloin is a damn good steak on a sizzling buttered plate.

Joe's Chicago Beef in Gulf Gate: He is SO the real deal! He even complimented my husband for ditching the low cal salads I send with him to work, apparently hubby has plenty of hankerings for a cheesesteak and beef hot dog.

Bonefish Grill: The Kobe burger. Who would have thought a seafood eatery could have a killer burger, but it does and it is packed with juicy goodness.

Rick’s Place: That tiny little French stop on Siesta Drive has a Beef Bourguignon worthy of a nod to the French Chef. This one is a real deal supper.

Ezra: Brainchild of the former chef, a grilled skirt steak with house made Worcestershire. Ask for bleu cheese crumbles and colossal onion rings.

Cheeburger Cheeburger: The Patty Melt is a true New England Pleasure; a throwback to the ‘70’s. I love the grilled onions and gooey cheese.

Alpine Steakhouse: This could be the least expensive steak dinner. NO atmosphere here, but people flock for the flavorful Prime Rib and grilled
steaks. They offer cheap, worthwhile lunches too.

Bangkok-Tokyo on State Road 70 has a mean sizzling beef dish — Sizzling Wor bar — I say hold the pork and pay for extra beef on this one.

JR’s Packinghouse: This could be the best dive bar ever! Do the Cuban burger, trust me. Bring a pack of Tums just in case, but it's well worth it folks. If you are so daring, try the Big Bertha — think of the Pee Wee Herman Movie with Large Marge. She could tackle this one!

Taste Of Asia: Go for the Crazy Bull, beef short ribs that are just bursting with flavors of soy and lemongrass, and an enormous portion.

Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar: Who would think the Philly cheesestak at a fresh fish place was this good but several people I met there while eating my fish taco said they swear by it — and they were from Philly!

Beach Bistro: Get the Tenderloin sliders with Béarnaise and demi glace and don’t forget the foie gras.

Where do you beef it up? Tell us in comments.

I've always wondered about Joe's Chicago Beef after driving by there so many times. Guess a cheesesteak is in order this week!
