About 9 months ago in this blog post, I asked you readers how your music-going experience can be improved. If you scroll down to the comments section of that post, you see that one person was talking about parking situations. While I don't believe it's really that big of an issue most of the time, there have been cases where parking was an issue in and around the downtown New Port Richey area. On my Facebook page, people offered up several other ideas of their own, with the majority being more consistent advertising.

However, this week, another Patch blogger offered up an idea of their own: appeal to non-smokers.

Being a non-smoker myself, I found Dale Chaney's blog post (which can be found here) very interesting. He's doesn't advocate an outright ban on smoking in bars, but he does make some valid points on how, generally, non-smokers are kind of an ignored, untapped market for bars. For me, it raises the question "What does a non-smoker--who can't be around cigarette smoke for serious health reasons--do when they want to see their favorite local band?" I highly encourage everyone to go read Chaney's post and offer up your own thoughts on this.
