New Port Richey Cancer Care Giver Group Meeting Aims to Help Those Who Normally Support Others

The group is open to anyone who is looking after a loved one who is sick, watching over an elderly parent, raising a grandchild, caring for a child with a mental or physical disability or mental illness, or simply helping another.

Florida Cancer Affiliates (FCA), a community-based medical oncology and hematology practice, announces that its New Port Richey center will host a care giver support group meeting. The group meets once a month on Wednesdays from 6 – 7:30 pm in the lobby of Florida Cancer Affiliates at 5500 Little Road, New Port Richey, Florida 34654.

Anyone interested in joining and learning about this group should call 727-808-4818. The next meeting is scheduled for February 12 from 6 – 7:30 pm.

The group is open to anyone who is looking after a loved one who is sick, watching over an elderly parent, raising a grandchild, caring for a child with a mental or physical disability or mental illness, or simply helping another out of the kindness of their heart or as a professional care giver.

 

This is a free support group where those who participate may talk candidly about the struggles, rollercoaster of emotions, the absurdities, the joys, the lessons, and the very real love that is care giving. Feel free to stop by and see what taking time to nurture yourself feels like as you sit amongst those who “get it.”
