RAP River Run Sign Up Party Set for Saturday
Runners interested in the June event are invited to sign up early during an April 6 event that includes a free running clinic.
New Port Richey area residents who want to learn more about the upcoming RAP River Run and how to prepare for a 5-mile or 5K event are invited out to Trinity Saturday, April 6 for a free clinic.
Flex One Trinity is the host site for a sign up party that includes on-site registration for the June 8 RAP River Run, raffles, a chance to learn more about the free running group called Run Trinity and more. They’ll even have food on hand courtesy of Tijuana Flats Trinity.
The party starts at 10 a.m. and that’s also when the free running clinic begins. Festivities continue until 1 p.m. at Flex One’s 1653 Davenport Drive location in Trinity. Attendees will also be able to learn about different group training programs in the area including:

- Suncoast Running's Super Sneaker's Program for Children Ages 7 – 12. This group starts meeting on April 6.
- Flex One Trinity's 8 Week Training Program The program is for beginning and intermediate runners and starts April 9.
- Hammer Time Fitness This group begins meeting May 4 and trains on the RAP River Run routes. Runners of all levels can join.
The RAP River Run is an annual event staged to raise money for Youth and Family Service’s Family Alternative’s Runaway Alternatives Project, or RAP House for short. RAP House is located in New Port Richey and serves kids from all over the region age 10 to 17 who are in need.
The event includes a 5-mile run, a 5k run, a Kids’ Adventure Run and more. It’s been expanded this year to include cash prizes in a few of the races and to enable more people to participate courtesy of a 5K walk and stroller strut, among other additions.
