2012 Bright House/ Bay News 9 Cotee River Seafood & Blues Festival Approaches

Greater New Port Richey Main Street's big springtime event brings music and food to the shores of the Pithlachascotee River.

April 27th (4-11p), 28th (10-11p), 29th (10-5p) Join us in downtown New Port Richey’s Sims Park for a fun filled weekend of live blues, food, fun, and other activities. Weekend activities include freshly prepared seafood, fresh sushi, the latest craze of the food trucks, bounce houses for the kids, boat and water sports show, photo contest, and river cruises aboard the Miss Daisy.

Friday evening we’ll kick-off the event with a happy hour in the park featuring Thunderbolt Brown Blues Band and Time Bandits. Kathy-Jo and the Bluzification Band will take the stage at 8:30pm.

Saturday’s activities include kayak demonstrations, an oyster eating contest, and photos with the famous Weeki Wachee Spring’s mermaids. There will also be a classic car show featuring the Corvette Club.

The blues music will kick-off  around noon Saturday with the winners from our “Fresh Catch Blues Talent Search” sponsored by Cocktails. Followed by performances by John Leavell, RJ Howson, and Josh Lamkin. Sean Chambers will headline the Blues show starting at 8:30p.

Sunday will feature performances by the talented students of the Music Matters Rock School and more food, arts & crafts, face painters and other family activities..
