Singer/songwriter Julie Black will perform at the New Port Richey Public Library Thursday, March 21 at 6 p.m.

If you love the blues, here's a chance to see one of the country's up-and-coming singers/songwriters.

Florida-based blues artist Julie Black will perform Thursday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at the New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St., New Port Richey.

Black is about to release her third CD. Known for her soulful lyrics and raspy sound, her first CD, Julie Black, Call Me Angel for the Blues, released in 2007, was named one of the Top 5 Contemporary Blues Albums of the Year by Blues Critic Radio.

If you can't make it on Thursday, don't worry. Black will return to the library April 11.

Black's concert is free but reservations are required. Call 727-853-1265.
