Sims Park Free Movie Event Returns

The City of New Port Richey’s Cultural Affairs Committee announces the return of “Spring & Fall Free for All: Movies in the Park” beginning Friday, February 17 in Sims Park, downtown New Port Richey.

February’s featured film, Sleepless in Seattle, stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan and is sponsored by Encore Music Store and Leaning Tower of Pizza.

The movie will begin approximately 6:30 pm and is FREE to attend. Guests are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages.

The Cultural Affairs Committee is a group of community volunteers, appointed by City Council, to provide a voice for citizens who wish to see the arts and culture become an integral part of our city, provide a strong identity, and strengthen our sense of community. This is accomplished by advising the City on cultural affairs and facilitating activities, events and education that aid in weaving the arts and culture into the fabric of our daily lives.

Committee meetings are open to the public and occur the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in the board room at the Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6630 Van Buren Street, New Port Richey.
