What to Know About Municipal Elections in April

New Port Richey and Port Richey to hold Elections!

As the Supervisor of Elections for Pasco County, I would like to announce there will elections for five municipalities to be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.  As of noon today with the closing of candidate qualifying, the cities of Dade City, Port Richey, New Port Richey, San Antonio and Zephyrhills will be holding elections.   Bookclosing (last date to register to vote) for this election is Monday, March 12, 2012.

Municipal elections are for voters residing within the city limits only.  Information on city candidates will be available on our website, www.pascovotes.com, as it is supplied to us. Sample ballots will be published in the newspapers on Sunday, April 8, 2012.  As always, election results will be posted on www.pascovotes.com.

All voters going to the polls for Municipal Elections should bring photo and signature identification, or they will be required to vote a provisional ballot.  Voters are also encouraged to update their voter registration record prior to election day by reporting any change in address.

The irony of municipal elections is that while they generally have low voter turnout, they have a huge impact on the daily lives of the residents within the various municaplities.  It is my hope that all eligible voters have their voice heard at the ballot box!
