Brew City Grill Serves Up Comfort, Fun and Food

You go to some restaurants to celebrate special occasions. And you go to other restaurants  when you don’t want to fuss or just want dine with some friends.

Brew City Grill is a place for friendship. You can eat in the dining room, or enjoy snacks or your meal in the large bar, where entertainment is offered on weekends.

Great for local dining, I visit Brew City about once a week. Servers are always friendly, and the food is good, if basic fare. Called appetizers, the nachos are a meal by themselves, with shaved cheddar and jack cheeses, jalapenos, diced tomatoes and lettuce, and chicken or beef. Likewise with the chicken tenders. Add a potato and salad and make it a meal. The French onion soup is made with sweet onions and real Gruyere cheese, no Swiss substitute. The chili is also delicious. The chef’s fish and chips are consistently good, and they're famous for their Bratwurst sandwich, which is a particular favorite of mine.

Brew City offers daily specials, usually specially priced versions of their regular menu items. Monday is meat loaf night, and it tastes just like the loaf you would get at home. The baby-back ribs are succulent, with a tangy sauce with a bit of a kick, and on Wednesdays you can get a full rack for near the regular price of a half. Friday is, of course, FISH FRY. Saturday is normally Pork Chop night, another of my favorites. The only disappointment is the potatoes - does anyone really like garlic mashed potatoes? I order a baked potato instead.

The service is efficient, friendly and informal. Brew City offers a full bar. The full menu can be viewed on their website. Easy to get to, and if you want a quick bite, you can get in and out. If you want to linger, you're not rushed to leave.
