The Pasco Economic Development Council is hosting a New Port Richey Economic Development Summit at Peace Hall, across Bank St from Sims Park in New Port Richey from 8:30 a.m, to 12:30 p.m. Friday. It’s free to attend.

The summit’s goal is to “discuss New Port Richey’s wonderful assets and how they can contribute to an effective community growth strategy.” 

Business leaders are being encouraged to join and share their ideas.

 The day’s keynote speaker is Johnette Isham, executive director of Realize Bradenton.  She will tell the story of how Manatee County developed its Riverwalk into a destination.

It’s not the only meeting about economic development in New Port Richey that’s coming up in the near future. New Port Richey will be discussing how to redevelop the mostly vacant hospital now known as community Hospital later this month. A firm date has not been announced, but the Suncoast News reports city leaders indicated they want the meeting to be held July 25.
