GULFSIDE HOSPICE & PASCO PALLIATIVE CARE RECOGNIZED VETERANS ON ARMED FORCES DAY

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (May 20, 2014) – Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care held a community veterans pinning ceremony on Saturday, May 17 in honor of Armed Forces Day as part of the We Honor Veterans program in New Port Richey.

Gulfside volunteers Don Spencer, veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and Therese Nadwairski, veteran of the United States Army, assisted in presenting each of the 20 veterans in attendance with a certificate of recognition and pinning them with an American flag pin while thanking them for their service. Throughout the service, several of the veterans took a minute to say a few heartfelt words to the crowd about their experiences in the military and thank all their fellow veterans for their service.

“It was very inspiring to listen to their stories, and see the different generations of veterans interacting,” said Kelly Milner, Gulfside’s director of volunteer services. “We are honored to serve the men and women of our community who have served in the military, and we are grateful to have some of them as members of our staff and volunteer team.”
