5 Things You Should Know Today, Sept. 8

1.     The National Weather Service expects mostly cloudy skies with a high near 85 today. The chance of rain stands at 50 percent.

2.     The New Port Richey Special Events Advisory Committee meets today and tomorrow to discuss whether the city should recover the costs of events from nonprofits. The committee meets with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Greater New Port Richey Main Street tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Both meetings take place at the New Port Richey Public Library.

3.     The 10th anniversary of 9/11 is Sunday. How are you remembering the day?

4.     Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? All Sports Arena, 7716 Rutillio Ct, New Port Richey, is celebrating its Grand Opening Saturday with a dunk tank, bounce house, and other amusements from 4 p.m.-8 p.m.
