Cotee River Seafood, Music Festival Approaches

The festival unfolds from Friday April 25 through Sunday April 28.

Three days of music, fun and, most importantly, seafood. Those are the makings of Cotee River Seafood & Blues Festival.

The annual event unfolds along Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey from Friday, April 26, through Sunday, April 28.

This marks the 14th year the event has taken place in New Port Richey. The event is an effort of the nonprfit Greater New Port Richey Main Street. The group's goal is to highlight and encourage the revitalization of downtown.

The festival will offer a wide variety of quality seafood and blues music, along with a boat and watercraft show and activities for the entire family. Arts and crafts and bounce houses will be available for children. All the fun happens along the banks of the Cotee River.

In between munching on seafood, festival goers can listent o a variety of bands, including the winner of the 2013 Fresh Catch Talent Search sponsored by Cocktails of New Port Richey and music students from Music Matters Rock School.

The rest of the weekend, bands like Betty Fox Blues and Sarasota Slim round out the musical offerings.

The festival hours are Friday 5-11pm; Saturday 10 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Chairs and blankets are welcome. Coolers are asked to be left at home.
