Heat, Possible Storms in the Weekend Forecast

Temperatures will climb to about 90 degrees in the New Port Richey area on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the New Port Richey area will see a weekend high temperature around 90 on Sunday with highs in the upper 80s on Friday and Saturday.

Rain chances are low today, July 6, coming in at 30 percent, but some thunderstorms are possible. The forecast is much the same throughout the weekend with storm chances hovering in the 20-30-percent range. That changes going into the early part of next week when the likelihood of rain climbs to 50 percent on both Monday and Tuesday.

While New Port Richey looks like it’s in for typical Florida weather over the weekend, the news is also good out of the tropics. According to the National Hurricane Center, there is no tropical cyclone activity at this time.
