Thunderstorms, Heat in the Workweek Forecast

The likelihood of rain is strong on Monday, but starts to taper off later in the week.

Florida’s typical summertime weather pattern seems to have hit its groove. That means New Port Richey residents need to prepare for afternoon storms and plenty of heat in the workweek forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, the area will see its strongest chances for thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday. In fact, toady’s forecast calls for about a 60 percent chance of storms, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. There’s also a high chance for storms Tuesday afternoon, but the chances for rain start to taper off later in the week.

Heat is also a dominate part of this week’s forecast. Expect highs in the upper 80s to low 90s throughout the week with lows in the low to upper 70s most evenings.
