Election Day is here!

It's Election Day, Michael Malterer makes his last pitch for votes.

In case you didn't know, today is Election Day. This is election is much different then the one you saw on TV last winter. In this race, one vote can make the difference between winning and losing.

I want to take a moment to encourage everyone to get out and vote today.

I believe that I have displayed, throughout this campaign, why I should earn your vote; however, in this blog I will provide a brief overview of who I am and what I believe one more time.

I am a New Port Richey native. I attended Calusa Elementary and I would go on to graduate from Ridgewood High School. I met my wife when I was 16. We are expecting our first baby girl in September.

I work full-time for Penske Truck Leasing but I volunteer a lot in our community. I am a Mentor (Big Brother) for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. I often volunteer for the Cold Shelter program through my church (Generations Christian Church). I am also a member of the Pearl of the West Masonic Lodge.

I believe that throughout this campaign I have laid out logical and concise solutions to the many problems New Port Richey faces.

1. I will focus on economic development. We need to be welcoming businesses to our city, not fighting with them because we don't have the proper zoning to accomodate them.

2. I will work to make our Recreation Center the community jewel that it should be. We need to be marketing it in the way it deserves. We need to be welcoming private partners who can help it become profitable.

I hope that you will support me in my bid to become City Councilman. Together we can restore New Port Richey to the greatness it once had. My dedication to this community, through my entire life growing up here, has always been consistent and true. I want to be City Councilman for no other reason than to be your representative. I promise to always keep in mind the interests of all residents and to work tirelessly to improve our community.

My name is Michael Malterer and I am asking for you to place your faith and vote for me today. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to call me at 727 237 5213.
