Detectives Add new Smash-And-Grab to List in West Pasco

They're also seeking help in identifying drivers of vehicles used in the burglaries.

And then there were 19.

A Hudson restaurant was broken into early Wednesday morning, adding a new incident to the list of smash-and-grab burglaries committed in a spree in West Pasco since July 1, according to Pasco County Sheriff's detectives. Before the newest incident, detectives had reported 18 smash and grabs.

Suspects shattered the glass of the front door at Mamma Mia’s at 14038 Hicks Road at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday and stole a small amount of cash from the till.

“It’s the same m.o.” as the other smash-and-grabs that have been reported, said Det. Sgt. Chris Beaman, of the Sheriff’s Office Property Crines Unit. “We can’t definitively say if they’re the same suspects.”

At large are James Keith Hudson, 45, and Michael C. Oneill, 30.

The teens and Hudson and Oneill are believed to be involved with at least the first six or seven burglary cases in the spree. Hudson, of 3740 Elfers Parkway, is the father of a teenager accused to have connection in about a dozen of the burglary incidents.

Three of those dozen happened July 29.

Hudson's son turned himself in Sunday. Two other teens suspected of being involved in the burglaries were arrested.

One of the three teenagers has been released from custody on in-home detention. The other two are believed to have been more heavily involved in the crimes and are still in custody.

Six smash-and grab burglaries occurred from just around 1 a.m. to just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Whether Hudson and Oneill are the culprits is under investigation, but Sheriff's Office Spokesman Doug Tobin said Tuesday that there's a "pretty good likelihood" those cases are related to the cases from July.

Detectives have also released video of a white Subaru used at a smash-and-grab at a Hess gas station at 7046 Ridge Road, Port
Richey, July 27 and a black pickup truck used at Ben's Accurate Automotive, 12426 Ramfis Road, Hudson, at midnight on August 1.

Anyone who can identify the suspects or the vehicles can contact Det. William Wood 1-800-854-2862, extension 7277.
