DUI Charges Filed Against Tom O’Neill

Prosecutors lodged the charge against Port Richey's city manager Aug. 29 after a lengthy investigation.

Port Richey City Manager Tom O’Neill will face DUI charges for a July 13 incident in New Port Richey.

The incident unfolded just before midnight when the New Port Richey Police Department responded to a call about a vehicle left idling in Astor Drive, according to the Tampa Bay Times. An officer recognized O’Neill, who once served as New Port Richey’s city manager,  behind the wheel and called for additional support.

Paramedics were also called to the scene and were unable to wake O’Neill after 45 minutes. He was taken to a nearby hospital. Further investigation into the case revealed O’Neill had a blood alcohol level of more than four times the legal limit.
