Your Mother's Day Gift Can Help a Toddler with Cerebral Palsy

Vendors are celebrating moms by helping the raise money the West Pasco girl needs for therapy to walk at an event in Dunedin.

The 3-year-old daughter of West Pasco parents is learning to walk — very, very slowly and not without a lot of help.

With expensive therapy (the kind not covered by health insurance), little Kiley Griggs, who has cerebral palsy, is now able to sit up on her own, and stand with some support.

A seeks to at least get her parents, who live wth her in the unincorporated New Port Richey area, some of the financial support they need to see Kiley .

Kiley could have spent much of her life in a wheel chair if not for  in the Upromise Dream Wall sweepstakes last year.

The prize money has largely funded the special . But it's won't quite cover the final 15-day therapy regime at Lampert’s Therapy Group in Largo, which is planned for this summer.

Her parents, Jay, a Dunedin firefighter, and Lori Griggs, a teacher at Rushe Middle School in Land O' Lakes, updated friends on Kiley’s Progress Facebook page in late March, after the first week of her second 15-day therapy regime:

“One week down 2 to go. She is doing INCREDIBLE!!!! She was even sitting on the floor with one arm fully extended and leaning on it to hold herself up!”

The Griggs tried for another Internet prize for $500 in February, but they didn’t win.
