Man Arrested In Connection with Golden Acres Burglary

Jeffrey Watson was accused of stealing items and pawning them off.

A Moon Lake area man was arrested recently and charged in connection to the theft of rough $6,000 worth of items from a home in the Golden Acres subdivision.

Someone broke into the home in the 9000 block of Sunshine Blvd. on January 15, according to an arrest report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told deputies the person ransacked the home and removed several items, including electronics, jewelry and alcohol.

A deputy located pieces of jewelry looted from the home at a pawn shop in Hudson. They were pawned by Jeffrey Watson, 21.

Watson pawned the items within two days of the burglary. Watson was also found to have pawned jewelry from an additional burglary that happened lesss than two miles from the Sunshine Blvd. burglary.

Watson, of 10524 Evergreen St., was charged with burglary of an unoccupied residence and three counts of dealing in stolen property. 

Watson is a suspected of being connected to multiple burglaries in the Golden Acres area that are under investigation, said Doug Tobin, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.

Watson remained in jail Monday morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.
