Man Found With Child Porn Cache

Retiree Denton Croft's extensive collection of child pornography included videos and photos, deputies say.

A 73-year-old man living in a New Port Richey area subdivision has been accused of possessing a cache of digital child pornography.

On Aug. 29,  Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies found that Denton Croft had more than 10 digital photos or videos showing people clearly younger than 18 involved in sex or sex acts, deputies say. One even involved an infant.

In addition, he also offered up a picture of a minor involved in sexual conduct for uploading.

Deputies spent hours that day going through files Aug. 29 at Croft’s home at 4427 Whitton Ave. in the Millpond area. They say he used a file sharing program to find and download child pornography. Deputies said he is married but that his wife appears to have been unaware of his activities.

In a press conference outside the Millpond subdivision with cyber crimes detective Anthony Bossone and Lt. Eric Seltzer, Sheriff Chris Nocco said the case “ really hits home one fact:  It could be anyone. It could be your next door neighbor.”
