Patient at Medical Center of Trinity West Accused of Rape

Bryan Joachinson snuck into a patient room and violently raped her, according to police

A patient at the Medical Center of Trinity’s West Pasco Campus in New Port Richey stands accused of raping a fellow patient.

A woman with a mental disability told a New Port Richey police officer recently that a patient named Bryan violently raped her in her bathroom at the facility on Tuesday, April 23, according to an arrest report.

Medical Center of Trinity’s West Pasco Campus, the former Community Hospital property, houses a mental health ward.

The police officer viewed security footage and saw Bryan Joachinson sneak into the door of the unit housing the woman after staff went through a door. He is usually confined in a different area of the facility than her.

An examination of the woman revealed signs of rape.

Joachinson, 19, was arrested Thursday and charged with involuntary sexual battery. He remained in custody Friday, with bond set at $150,000.

Correct me if I am wrong ... But where was the 24 hr protection that was supposed to be in place to keep the young man safe as promised by the hospital staff after he was placed in their care? Where was the protection for the young woman as well while she was in their care? Also who is the alleged staff member who was So Careless while on duty and even checking if the door that was used was not properly close? It seems like the hospital has a lot to answer for, to not only both the families but also the court ... The hospitals carelessness has destroyed 2 young people's lives and their families as well ... Makes me very scared to think that this is the way Community Hospital operates ... Hang Community Hospital for their total carelessness period!!!!!!!

Bravo, Kathie!! My thoughts exactly. Such a shame these families need to go through such a horrible tragedy. Community Hospital should have been watching them, taking care of them.. they were both there in a Psych ward!!!!! Where was the supervision?!?!

It's not Community Hospital anymore. It is Trinity Campus West.
