Police: Teens Attacked Homeless Man

The victim remains in critical condition.


Update: Frank Randolph, the homeless man who was the victim in the case, has died, according to Bay News 9.

Homeless man Frank Randolph was lying on a mattress in a wooded area of Kentucky Ave and Congress Street in New Port Richey on Tuesday, June 25

Randolph looked dead, according to an arrest report from a New Port Richey Police detective. He was found covered with feces and bugs. He didn’t appear to be moving.

Randolph was brought to a hospital. He had numerous injuries, including a broken collarbone, according to the arrest report.

After receiving medical treatment to stabilize him, Randolph told the detective he had been attacked while lying on the mattress. He said three young men threw logs, concrete, concrete sticks and urine at him.
The detective identified a 15-year-old as a suspect thanks to information from Randolph. He admitted to throwing sticks at Randolph, according to the arrest report. He said a 17-year-old was the one who threw concrete and urine at Randolph.

Both teens were arrested and charged with aggravated battery. The identity of the third teen remains unclear.

Randolph remains in critical condition and may die as a result, the detective writes.
