Woman Chases Man With Car, Knife

Minnie Lutes terrorized a man by chasing him with her car and a knife, deputies say.

A West Pasco woman stands accused of using her vehicle to chase after a man then running after that man with a knife.

The incident started the night of Aug. 22 when Minnie Lutes “went off” on her on-again, off-again boyfriend after he did not call her on his lunch break, according to an arrest report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

She met him at a friend’s house in the New Port Richey area and started a huge argument, the man told a deputy. She followed him in her vehicle as he left his friend’s house to go to an apartment and got into an argument with him there. He left, and she followed him in her own vehicle was he was driving away.

She drove after him through a Denny’s parking lot. He ran red lights, jumped curbs and drove through random parking lots to try and get away from her. She followed him to a 7-Eleven. She circled around the parking lot, chasing him in her vehicle while he was in his.

At some point, Lutes, 41, and the man got out of their vehicles in the 7-Eleven parking lot, and Lutes chased the man with a knife.

Lutes at some point got into her vehicle and crashed it into a building at 5919 Trouble Creek Rd. A deputy then saw her speed away.

A little later, a deputy on the lookout for a Ford Crown Victoria spotted one at the corner of Trouble Creek and Rowan Roads. He tried to pull it over, and it sped away.

The Victoria finally came to a halt at the corner of Illinois Ave. and Congress St. in New Port Richey.

The deputy opened the driver’s side door and saw it had blood on it. He noticed Lutes was cut and bleeding.

Lutes, of 10834 Leon St., New Port Richey, was detained and taken for medical treatment, then arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated battery, one count of reckless driving, one count of aggravated assault, and two counts of fleeing police.
