Earth Day Celebration Set For New Port Richey

Learn about the city's sustainable businesses on April 20.

The City of New Port Richey will come together with more than two dozen business owners and vendors to celebrate Earth Day this weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday April 20 in the New Port Richey Public Library courtyard.

The purpose is to expose the community to local businesses and organization that focus on sustainable living, community culture and environmental protection, said Kacey Atkinson, event organizer and a member of the New Port Richey Environmental Committee.

This commmittee hosts two eco-awareness events a year. This marks the second Earth Day celebration for the city's committee, Atkinson said.

"We wanted to have a community event that introduced people to the idea of sustainable living," Atkinson said.
