Fasano Named Tax Collector
Mike Fasano, a veteran lawmaker from West Pasco County, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to take over Mike Olson's former post.
It looks like Pasco County has a new tax collector, but his face shouldn’t be unfamiliar to residents.
Gov. Rick Scott offered State Rep. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, the position Aug. 6 , according to the Miami Herald. Fasano has served Pasco County for years, both as a state senator and representative.
Fasano would replace Mike Olson, Pasco’s longtime tax collector, who died in June at the age of 68.

The appointment, which Scott plans to announce personally in Pasco on Wednesday, lasts through November 2014, according to the Herald.
The governor is making his appoiuntmnt official August 7 at a press conference at 9:30 a.m. at New Port Richey City Hall, 5919 Main Street.
