Romney Rally: What You Need to Know

Need to know about traffic, security and tickets for Gov. Mitt Romney’s rally in Land O’ Lakes on Saturday, Oct. 27? This is the place to find out what you need to know.

Planning on heading over to the rally for Gov. Mitt Romney in Land O’ Lakes on Saturday?

There are quite a few things officials from Pasco County and the Romney campaign want you to be aware of.

Traffic and Road Closings

While it’s unclear just how congested U.S. Highway 41 will become in the hours before the rally, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco has some pretty simple advice: “Go early or avoid the area completely if you’re not going.”

Nocco said he anticipates U.S. 41 will close sometime Saturday to accommodate Romney’s motorcade, but he couldn’t provide specific times or locations.

The rally takes place at Land O’ Lakes High School, 20325 Gator Lane, starting at 7 p.m. Doors open around 5 p.m. for ticketholders.

Security Do’s and Don’ts

Spectators can plan on some pretty tight security measures for Saturday’s rally, officials say.

“All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible,” the Romney campaign website says. “No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed in the venue.”

Cameras, however, are allowed.

Nocco had a few other things to add to the list. He says participants should leave food, coolers, chairs and, of course, weapons at home. They can, however, bring cash since there will be vendors on site.

He also reminded that the event is a private one. That means people can be asked to leave at the discretion of the Romney campaign.

Getting Tickets

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s rally.

Anyone wishing to attend can obtain a ticket online from the Romney campaign’s website.

Tickets are also available at the following locations:

New Port Richey Victory Office
4768 U.S. Highway 19

Wesley Chapel Victory Office
27709 State Road 56

Spring Hill Victory Office
2939 Landover Blvd.

Temple Terrace Victory Office
234 Bullard Parkway

Who’s Attending?

Romney is slated to appear with U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Senate hopeful Connie Mack.

What About Protests?

While it’s unclear just how many protests will take place during Saturday’s rally in Land O’ Lakes, at least one group has announced its intentions.

The United School Employees of Pasco plan to show up in force to express their concerns about funding for public schools.

I say that Nov. 6th will tell the tale. This socialist bastard will be led from the White House. Hopefully he won't loot the place the Clinton administration did. I am no fan of Bush but at least he loved the country. Bush is why the Tea Party was born. Rick Scott is great too. He can take all of his radical friends back to that hellhole in Chicagpo. it is simple moron. Where Republicans govern, you have prosperity. Rat holes like Chicago, California , Detroit and NT where liberals rule they are in a mess. It is why the electoral college exists. I know you love the electoral college.

I find it fascinating that the electorate is practically pissing all over themselves to get the party back in power that almost drove this country into Depression four years ago. The current guy has been in only 4 yrs and everybody is going back to the rich fat cats. Also, if it weren't for a Socialist Medicare, the selfish elderly wouldn't have a pot to shit in. But, that would be fine because we all know their loaded Republicans and could foot the bill themselves. Flame on.......

And Jean, FYI, I own my own small lighting sales agency. I'm 57 years old and my income has dropped 75% since this prick took office. He has his boot on the throat of American business. Obamacare has every business owner I know not investing for growth. Every policy this fool has put in place rewards laziness and failure. Ther eis no getting around that.
