Sand Bags Offered as Flood Watch Goes Up for New Port Richey

Pasco County is bracing for another round of heavy storms Friday afternoon.

With rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches throughout Pasco on Thursday and more storms expected today, Aug. 23, Pasco County officials are taking no chances when it comes to weather.

In advance of this afternoon’s anticipated storms, the county has announced that it has sandbags available for residents. The National Weather Service’s Ruskin office has issued a flood watch for all of Pasco County for Friday afternoon and into the evening hours.

A flood watch means that flooding is possible within an area in the next 24 to 36 hours.
