Garry, of Land O’ Lakes, had used the rink for 12 years. He played hockey there and coached youth inline hockey. He also plays ball hockey and ran the ball hockey league. His son Austin, 10, has played hockey there for about four years.

“It was one of those places you couldn’t let close,” he said.

Garry assumed ownership of the business.

Under Garry’s ownership, All Sports offers youth roller hockey, hockey leagues for men and women, adult deck hockey and indoor soccer. The rink also hosts special events, including birthdays and micro championship wrestling.

The slate for upcomong events include Coconuts Comedy Show nights, a magic show, a battle of the bands and a Parents Without Partners single parent support group.

Garry wants the rink to be self–sustaining financially. Right now, he works a second job running a branch of a temp agency.

“I make money to keep this place open,” he said.

Garry runs the rink with the help of family and a rink manager.

He is currently looking for folks who want to advertise in the arena and use it during the day.

He’s also trying to increase awareness about All Sports in the community. Once everyone knows about the place, “it can blossom,” he said.

Garry, 37, says that in our area “there’s no place like this for the kids.”

“It keeps the kids off the streets and active,” he said.
