Updated: Body Found Floating in Water at Elfers Parkway

The body was found in an area flooded by the Anclote River.

A body was found floating in water in the 3800 block of Elfers Parkway, which is in a flooded area of Elfers, Pasco County Sheriff'sdeputies said Wednesday.

Spokesman Doug Tobin said authorities received the call about the body, which is that of a middle-aged man, at around 11 a.m. Wednesday. The man is dead.

Details released are scant, but Sheriff Chris Nocco said the man was fully clothed when found.

Authorities found no obvious signs of trauma, said Sheriff's Office Spokesman Doug Tobin.

The water in the area, which is near the Anclote River, is still moving swiftly, Nocco said.

The area is still "very dangerous," he said.

The investigation continues.
